Myrtinum is a reconstruction of a historic perfume. Laimė Kiškūnė drew an inspiration from the research of Egyptologists, from the fragments of a formula written down by Pliny the Elder and the description of Dioscorides production techniques. In historical times, perfumes were mostly solid.

As historic botanical sources indicate, in ancient times, Egypt was a home to highly scented myrtles. Therefore, an African myrtle, which does not have the usual medicinal scent is used in Myrtinum solid perfume.

In those days, the Mediterranean fragrance culture may also be experienced through a particularly interesting spice: the leaves of Indian cinnamon (tamala). The essential oil from these leaves has a distinctively woody green scent.
